If you cook at home, you probably spend quite a bit of time in your kitchen. Keeping your kitchen up and running involves many different factors. Are you aware of them all? Here are a few things to keep in mind that could cause trouble in the kitchen:
Your appliances are a major part of your kitchen. If they don’t have sufficient ventilation, their lifespan will be seriously impacted. You should also make sure they are safe for use, and that their wiring isn’t frayed which could lead to a short or even electrocution.
Your kitchen fan needs to clear out the smoke and steam from your cooking to the outside. Make sure that this is the case.
Around your sink, there should be a silicone seal to keep moisture from intruding causing mold problems or other issues from water damage.
Any wall receptacles that are near a water source need to be GFCI. You should regularly test them to make sure that they function properly.
