Appliances are a very important part of our modern, everyday life. Just take a moment to think about how many times you use appliances every single day. Most people understandably take this for granted. While the installation of many appliances can be fairly straightforward, some appliances can be a bit more complicated. And some, if improperly installed, can be life-threatening.

Take for example the simple exhaust vent on the back of your average clothes drying machine. Unfortunately, it can be easy to take shortcuts when installing a dryer, but this can be dangerous. If the exhaust vent is directed indoors, the vented moist air can be releasing up to a gallon of water into your home. This moisture can cause mold, rot, and other issues. On the other hand, even if the vent is directed outside, if there are sharp turns in the ductwork of the exhaust, lint and other debris can get trapped and form a fire hazard.
